I enjoyed my visit a lot. This place is amazing. Braga is a beautiful small city in the north of Portugal and one of the most famous places to visit there is Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary. It is the main tourist attraction in Braga and also a pilgrimage site, having more than 100 meters of stairs to get to the top. But if you don't feel like climbing up through the stairs, there is an old tram that can get you to the top but you have stay in line for that.

Spectacular views of the town and surrounding areas. The architecture is beautiful or the Cathedral and stairs. You can get the funicular up but walking isn't to difficult. ,
Beautiful church on top of the hill. The architecture is lovely, even the surroundings are very serene. The views of the city from top of the place are totally worth visiting the place. Also, the place has nice gardens, cafes on the top. As for parking, there are plenty of spots on top and even at bottom, depending on where you want to be though the best view of the stunning architecture is from the middle. In the evenings you will also find lot of locals climbing, hiking, jogging up the hill (and even cycling!). There is also an elevator which you can take (tickets are 1.5-2 euros), but would totally recommend walking the pathway. Would totally recommend giving this place a visit
Good Jesus of the Mount, what an interesting historical location place with a stunning view of Braga. Beautiful architecture, worth coming up. You can use the funicular but walking (577 steps) isn't too difficult either. The Sanctuary is a notable example of pilgrimage site with a monumental, Baroque stairway that climbs 116 meters. It is an important tourist attraction of Braga. Built in a complex assemblage of architectural styles, Jesus do Monte’s roots date all the way back to the 14th century. Each feature of the site contains its own symbology, independent of the others, making the entire site packed with visually arresting, bizarre details. The staircases themselves are Baroque in style, with granite steps and a white facade. Take for instance, the perpetually-flowing fountains found on the staircases’ landings. It would be easy to miss that each is dedicated to one of the five senses (touch, smell, taste, sight, sound), the effect of which can be incredibly disconcerting on an individual level when removed from the collective whole.
Amazing church structure on the top of the hill. We parked at the bottom of the hill where there is the lookout. But there are not enough parking spot there. The lookout can over see the city as well as the view of the church from the bottom. Its very beautiful. The walk (all steps) from the bottom the the top is about 30 minutes. But its worth the walk, that you can see lots of spiritual sculpture and different angle of the church from the downward view.
If you visit Braga, dont forget to drop by in Bom Jesus , a very nice place to see, you have 2 choices to reach the top 1.) Take by a small tram (you should pay 2.50 )or just walk (650) steps
Amazing place with a stunning view of Braga! The church is very nice. The park is also excellent with picnic areas and playground for children. But the stairs leading to the church are the main atraction! If you start at the bottom, there are several staircases leading to the top. I really recommend this place!
A very beautifull church worth watching. Don't take the little train up but take the stairs. It's worth it. All the statues are great to watch. On the top there is a lot to see besides the church. A little lake where you can rent a rowboat, small caves with dripping water and some restaurants. And of course the view is beautiful.
