It is turning into a large city itself. The sequence of the graves are confusing some times and you might not be able to find the grave easily. In near future the capacity of this cemetery becomes full. More than 1,300,000 graves in this cemetery which is the biggest one actually in Iran. RIP

The name of the place means "Paradise of Fatemeh-Zahra", who was Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) daughter and Imam Ali's wife. The place is really a heaven for the martyrs' souls. The place is adjacent to Imam Khomeini's mausoleum. You can get there by metro. Pick the red line of Tajrish-Kahrizak for getting there. Behesht-e Zahra comprises many parts and travelling there on foot can be hard. It is very interesting to see the mourning ceremonies. There are always mourners here. The atmosphere here is sad and tragic. While watching the graves of the innocent men who died during the horrible war , you will feel grief and sorrow. The graves contain glass boxes. You can notice some accessories in every glass box, like small Qurans, Haft Seen tables of Nowruz, religious flags, quotes from Quran, torbat or mohr which are used for praying, artificial flowers, especially tulips which are the symbols of martyrdom.

Biggest cemetry in Iran. It is like a big city. You may expect a multi storey cemetry in future .
