Came back in October while doing a heritage walk around Lanark. The name of the cafe is apt as it's set up like a traditional tearoom. A bit old school, but pleasant, bright and airy. All the new health guidelines were being observed with hand sanitiser, table space and face masks etc. I ordered a home made vegetable soup and also a (I think) marshmallow cheesecake. First off the soup was pretty poor. Really watery and salty. I also asked for a glass of water to help with the saltiness, but still couldn't finish the soup. The cheesecake was delicious though. In fairness, when it came to the bill, the staff took money off the final bill, so kudos for that. I came here because of all the amazing reviews, but I was disappointed overall. I can't fault the service or customer focus and that's a credit to the staff.

I was treated to Afternoon Tea for my birthday and it was delicious. Tasty sandwiches, followed by warm scones with jam, fruit and thick fresh cream. Followed by some scrumptious cakes. Delightfully presented by friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed and l can't wait to go back.

We had visited Lanark intending to have a bite to eat in the lovely Hidden Courtyard just across the road, but that was closed so we popped in here for breakfast which came in great choices salmon, soda scones, tattie scones, sausage etc. Absolutely lovely and well cooked, not drippng in fat. Coffee and tea also great. There is the option to sit outside. On second visit we sat outside and had a tuna sandwich and egg mayo again very nice but it's better inside with proper cutlery and plates rather than a plastic container .

Lovely cafe with friendly and helpful staff. Nice menu with good variety of food and even more so for dessert with all the cakes. Lovely food, would recommend.
