I purchased my home from Clayton Tappahannock a couple of years ago. Kevin, Chris, and the whole team were really responsive and friendly throughout the whole process. From selection to closing on the home, I always felt as if the company had my best interest at heart.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! We purchased our modular home in May if 2010. We have had the same issues as others here with our roof and ac. I addressed the initial roof issue when we first purchased our house back in May 2010. There was a line across the roof of our home where the shingles have never been nailed down. I contacted the Tappahannock general manager since he was the one that sold us the home and made arrangements to have the construction done. I was told that was normal and when the sun warm the shingles up when it got warmer outside the shingles would lay down it’s not a problem. Well that never happened. We had a local highly recommended roofer come to inspect our home recently due to leakage. He found out that the shingles were not ever nailed down in certain areas. He also discovered that there was no roofing paper placed under half of the shingles on the backside of our house amongst several other things. We have also had the issue where the AC was leaking inside of the home due to no drip pan. I addressed these issues with Kevin Perry who is the general manager of Clayton Homes Tappahannock. He said he would get back to me, this was in November. We still Never heard anything back from him regarding our issues. The last thing we were told was that they would put it up for review. I contacted the home office and sent a copy of all the pictures, written findings, and estimate for repair proving manufacturers installation defect and they basically said that the roof has held up for 10 years not their problem. We are now in the process of seeking legal counsel. Absolutely disgusting with no accountability.Their general group of handyman contractors clearly isn’t doing their job. Neither is the general manager or corporate. Buy at your own risk! To anyone else who is having problems with the same business, please feel free to contact us and we can put you in touch with an attorney.

Never I mean never buy a modular home from these people they have no construction supervisor or any overseer of the sub contractors. they are left to do as they please and it's up to you to find out the mistakes and try and get them back multiple times to fix mistakes. And now the big problems we have with the home are left with us having to deal with the manufacturer of the home like why even use them at all just go to the manufacturer to begin with they don't do anything anyway but lie lie lie and hope you don't call and have to deal with you.....buyer beware buy from a creditable modular company.

You get what you pay for. The fellas that work there try their best. Keep in mind Warren Buffet owns them and Bill Gates runs them. So be ready for lots of corporate red tape. I bought a home from them that I'm enjoying. Overall good experience, just be ready to stay on top of things yourself
