By far the best tendon I know! I learned that the best ingredients - fresh conger eel (prepared based on order), best seasonal vegetable and pickles, and preserves the bulding as it is (it has been there for 120 years ! ) are their commitment to preserve Japan’s rich cuisine and architecture culture. They only have 3 menu on tendon (tenpura rice) and several ala carte tempura menus to be chosen, but the anago tempura (conger eel) is definitely a must try. Say hello to the lady owner Yoko-san when visiting the shop English visitor, you can see their English menu and their history on the website while enjoy back to Edo era and enjoying Iseya’s amazing tendon

What a great ancient Tempura place! Delicious ten don and many combination to choose from. If you like tempura, this is the place to try out. The wait is a bit longer than usual restaurant. For those food hunter, I am certain that you would find the wait worth awhile. One last thing, the dessert is a pleasant surprise

Been around since pre WW I. Crazy! Retro place and prepare the long wait before they open. Still a long wait after they take your order. Fresh sesame oil based tempura, that gets changed every so often during service. Which explains the anticipation. Quality of ingredients here is also superior.

A must try for tempura lovers, authentic experience and delicious tendon. Portion is large, very filling so be hungry. Wait time for food is a bit long as everything is made to orders. Not enough AC inside. There is always a queue, so be there early around 11 am to get a table!

Do not order more than one serving! The tempura they make here is the thick and oilier kind (rather than the light yellow colour, it is more of a darker yellow colour). Locals love eating here I was the only foreigner. One serving will definitely fill you up even if you're a big eater. If you get served fresh then it will taste good but if you eat slowly it may feel a little soggy or heavy at the end. Great restaurant, great atmosphere, somewhat hard to get to. Other people love this place but it's just not my kind of tempura. Great sauce and selection of side dishes. The service is stunning.
