Hi. I would like to put on record my gratitude to Darren and all the team at Symphony House Nursing Home for the care and effort they put in to looking after an elderly friend of mine, Beryl. I had power of attorney for Beryl, and it was my responsibility to choose a suitable environment for her to live on discharge from hospital. She was 86, and had undergone surgery to her knees / hips over the previous 18 months, recovered from cancer, and had a few medical conditions. She was now immobile, and her memory was getting poor at times. My wife and I viewed a few care homes before we chose Symphony House. It just felt more homely, and could offer a private room with en-suite. In terms of cost I would say it was average from the ones we viewed, but it definitely felt a better atmosphere. Darren (the manager, but also a qualified nurse ) visited Beryl in hospital to assess her and make sure they could meet her needs before offering her a place. Beryl liked Darren from the off, much more than a lady from another home that we were considering who had done the same. Beryl lived at Symphony House for about 14 months, until her sudden death. In that time, she kept the same room. She thrived in the environment, preferring to spend most of her time in the day lounge with other residents, generally observing the day to day goings on and enjoyed the regular entertainment provided. She ate well and was always in good spirits, her general health improved. Beryl would certainly have said something if she didn't like it, but she never did complain. I honestly believe we made the correct choice. Thanks to all. Nick, Laraine and family.

AMAZING! I cannot praise Darren and his team enough. After my friend was failed by his GP, oncologist and Cynthia Spencer hospice I have nothing but admiration for this dedicated, caring and compassionate team. No glossy brochure and no fancy gimmicks just good old fashioned nursing care, respect and consideration for their residents. Such a refreshing change from what our family was forced to endure from the 'experts'. Thank you all so much!
