Without doubt, on current form, this is the best Indian restaurant in York bar none. Great staff, great head chef (most importantly) and superb value for money. What’s there not to like? For those that want to find fault in any place you will because you want too, however, I’d be surprised if you could find fault with Sylhety unless you don’t like the colour of their front doors or location.

Absolutely top meal. We ordered from Sylhety based only on reviews as we're not local. The food arrived even more quickly than we'd hoped which caught us out as we were still heading home from a walk, but the delivery driver couldn't have been nicer about having to wait a couple of minutes. Everything was excellent from the mains, to sundries. If I were local I'd expect this to be my new regular takeaway.
This is without doubt the best takeaway curry we have had in our 9 years in York. Second time to order from Sylhety, having been recommended by a friend. Portions are huge, flavours infused will send your taste buds wild and extra dips on side and complimentary popadoms are a beautiful bonus. A definite favourite of ours
Really enjoyed the food and hospitality, I had the stir-fry chicken with peas rice, was a spicy and flavorful dish and was apparent that quality ingredients were used. Service was prompt and friendly. They also do a take away delivery service too so might try this also next time if I don't want to dine out. Can't wait to try all the other dishes. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend this new restaurant in York.
Best curry I’ve had in York. Good quality chicken, tasty curries and sides and excellent service. Highly recommend.
