I just moved to Swansea and the alternator of my car needed to be replaced. So I made several calls to different garages. Shorts Auto Electrical promised the best quote. But after the job was done, it turned out to be a real let down: They installed an old refurbished alternator without consulting me. They constantly kept mixing up prices with and without v.a.t., so in the end I had to pay much more than it seemed. They took over two hours just to install the alternator, so the expense on labour was more than half the bill. And since this garage is NOT accredited by The Motor Ombudsman, I couldn't take my complaints anywhere else. The only positive: they fixed the car a day ahead. Bottom line: Of all the options I had, sadly I took my car to the wrong place. I would recommend Shorts Auto Electrical to no one. Garages like these (that treat customers like idiots) hopefully will become extinct and make way for garages that have customer relationship & service as their core business.
