Before becoming editor of The Journalist I worked on The Times and the Financial Times for 20 years and met many top class journalists and media professionals. Without doubt David Woods is one of the most professional, creative, meticulous and dedicated people I have ever worked with. When I became editor eight years ago I felt the magazine was badly in need of a redesign so that it could be an attractive, professional publication that the NUJ could be proud of. I think he achieved just that and continues to deliver the highest of standards every issue. I feel lucky that we found him and that we have been able to work together for so long. Surgery Creations is quick, compliant, creative, helpful and affordable. In fact, if it really was a surgery, it would be a crown jewel of the NHS. Much of that is thanks to its founder, David Woods, who is pragmatic and attentive (and a nice guy). I worked with him on two projects with very tight deadlines – and he delivered exceptional results on both occasions.
