What’s Up Dawg? LOL, how cute is this place?! I haven’t been to Franklin Street in Chapel Hill in what feels like forever. I stopped in here with some friends for lunch on the way home from a ski trip in Sugar Mountain, North Carolina. They have plenty of TV’s accessible no matter where you are sitting to watch whatever game happens to be on. There was also an artist hard at work - be sure to check out the sports-themed paintings in my pics for this review. Go Wolfpack!

Grade A Dog's. If your near Franklin St and want some great chili dogs stop here. They've got a homemade chili that is amazing and you have to try at least once. They have a very wide variety of chili dogs to choose from, and excellent customization options if you don't want something directly off the menu.

Great atmosphere!! When I walked in all of the servers greated me individually and asked if I was in need of any help. Told them it was my first visit there (I've heard a lot of great things about the food). The lady behind the bar recommended one of their burgers so I went with that and their Western Dog... but nobody warned me about the sauce they put on the side! WHAT!? It should be illegal to have a sauce that good hit your test buds. Needless to say... I'll be back!

After I was seated they handed me a card with a code on it that I needed to scan to get their menu on my phone (which I didn't have with me) because they don't have menus. I had to leave and walk a block and a half back to my car to get my phone so I could see a menu. Then, my phone wouldn't read the code and the waitress said that happens a lot of the time with certain phones. Well, I finally placed my order (6.99 for a hot dog and some hash rounds that they call tater tots). The dog was small compared to the steamed (almost soggy) bun. The chili had very little flavor, the sour cream actually overpowered it. The tater rounds were very plain, no seasoning, not even salt. They also didn't have utensils so I had to eat everything with my hands. My waitress was friendly and helpful but I don't think they are giving the wait staff a lot to work with here. If you are in the mood for a hot dog - go to Trolly Stop one block up the street, or anywhere else - save your time and your money.

Came here with a group of six for an early dinner, and really enjoyed the experience overall. The appetizer we tried - the pizza fries - wasn't anything special (sauce made fries soggy, but the actual cheese/pepperoni on top was yummy). I think it would have been a lot more effective if I had several of their really excellent cocktails beforehand. The actual food was great - the cowboy burger I had was among my favorite burgers i've ever eaten, and the little pickle fry things I got as my side were AWESOME. A little spicy, very flavorful. Everyone with me really enjoyed their burger and ate every single bite. The only real complaint I had about the food, which is minimal, was the 'tater tots' that my husband ordered with his food. They were less tater tots, and more old hashbrowns from a Burger King breakfast combo. On a service front, our waitress was phenomenal. Very polite, very patient, and very attentive, and when one of the cooks in the back got my mother-in-law's order wrong, they realized it before she could even start eating, without her telling them, and had her another order ready. Great atmosphere, great burgers, really good drinks, and an overall good experience in the Chapel Hill area. Plus, it was Halloween, so they supplied us with candy for dessert!
