毎年7月に開催される駐屯地祭は 戦車、火砲が多数参加する観閲 行進や模擬戦闘訓練は大変迫力 があります。 本州では最大規模です。 周辺に臨時駐車場もあるので 便利です。

一般公開の際に喫茶店で昼食。数をさばくために通常と異なるメニューだったのは残念。
