Beautiful old pub to visit after a good walk... A lovely young lady with long red hair welcomed us on both of our visits there at the weekend.
We came to the Strickland Arms on a Tuesday evening for the Eat Out to Help Out and had a pleasant experience. The restaurant was taking COVID-19 seriously with measures in place. The staff were very friendly and our waitress knew the beer list and specials off the top of her head. The only reason it didn't get a 5 star is that I felt that the menu didn't have a great offering. Thus could have been due to a restricted menu due to COVID-19. The food was still very good though.
Late pub lunch after a days walking in the lakes, friendly staff and a lovely beer garden in the Orchard. My wife and I both chose the hotpot as we were really hungry and thought it would be filling, it was really tasty but the portion size was ridiculously small for a main course, more a starter size! We both felt we could have eaten another full portion and left feeling unsatisfied. Certainly not worth the 13.75 a portion .
