Just outside Wellow is the Stoney Littleton Long Barrow a neolithic burial mound. An amazing bit of 5500 year old history!

Stoney Littleton Long Barrow Constructed c. 3800 BC. A dozen people were laid to rest here. This is an absolutely AMAZING and exceptional site. The central aisle goes really far into the barrow. It's a bit of a back breaking crouch but it's so worth it.
Amazing ..you can really feel the history of the place
Wow what a gem of an historical burial tomb so well preserved and a great vista. The little kiosk by car park sells refreshments and there's a little stream to sit by. Not a big area to park , about 7 cars max ! The climb upto the Barrow is steep and there's 2 styes to get over so not disabled friendly .
