Absolutely amazing food. The steak, crispy shrimp deviled eggs, and crab and shrimp mac and cheese are unbelievable. Finish it all off with the off the menu donut trees and you can't go wrong. Wish I could afford to eat here regularly. Highly recommended and possibly my favorite restaurant.

I have lived in Chicago, and I enjoy a good steak which is easy to find here, but this place blew me away when I first went last year. The staff is incredibly attentive, from the time you check in, at the bar, and the wait staff. At the bar, they make a heck of a martini, but beware because it is not a little drink. The bread, the steaks, the sweet corn creme brulee are all fantastic and the steak comes out on a plate at 500 degrees. I should mention it is a very sharply decorated and comfortable space as well. You cannot go wrong here.
EDIT: After changing my initial review and posting about my recent experience, Steak 48 reached out to me to address my concerns. I appreciate the time and effort that they took to do this. I'm sure they are doing whatever they can to provide the best dining experience for their guests. We have visited this restaurant on several occasions and will be happy to return. We have always enjoyed our dinners here and will continue to do so. Hate to have to post this review, but our experience tonight is worth mentioning. We entered Steak 48 from the frigid cold 10 degree temperatures that Chicago brings in February. Obviously, my husband had a hat on. As we were getting ready to walk to our table, someone at the hostess desk (I’m assuming a manager?) asked my husband to remove his hat. Ok, no problem. It was still on because we had literally just entered from outside. The hat was removed. The issue I have with this is as we were seated and enjoying our meal, another couple was sat close to us and the male had on pants that were so low that I could see his boxers hanging out. This was clearly deliberate and not accidental. I’m curious as to how this is acceptable per the dress code but wearing a hat as you walk to your table is not? The food was great and the rest of the service was great, as always, we have visited Steak 48 on several occasions. But, I think if you’re going to enforce a dress code, then enforce it for all guests.
phenomenal food, awesome service, great ambiance - felt very safe to go out - great about spacing out and keeping things safe for everyone. and speaking of everyone : they made us feel special ,welcomed from the moment we entered the restaurant. Kaytin ( our waitress ) went above and beyond . CANT WAIT TO GO BACK !
