Everything closed when I went this time. But could still walk round the wood and the beautiful grounds...in the snow....

Great place to get a bite to eat. Really nice full English breakfast. The cakes and other food looked great.
Really lovely place for a walk. I highly recommend going to the cafes and the garden center as they have some hidden jems.
Cafe serving Latte from a counter-top drinks machine that was very disappointing. Both of us had cherry scones that were bone dry. Positives. Pleasant, efficient serving staff. Nice place and appeared very clean. Others seemed to like it but we rated it as poor/average. We're going to try the cafe in the courtyard next time in hope of a half-decent coffee.
This is a lovely spot. Long run into entrance watch out for a handful of black and white dairy cows wandering on your way in. Once in on your right the garden centre. On the left further down a small Square with a few coffee shops and other little shops to browse and in particular the shop that makes toys to order I.e small fairies that have fun movements, there is a large note book which had a quill moving along the side you can't see that you may think an invisible person is using. Nothing is cheap but if you are into automatronics they are worth it. There is also a large lake and a church in private grounds but you are allowed in. Anyway have a visit it's good for all ages.
