This is my first computer from Star Labs. I have had their Mk IV laptop for a little over a month now. I am really liking this computer and I use it several times a day. I have contacted their email support about 5 times now with questions. I received a response within 24 hours every time and they fully answered everything. It's early but so far I think Star Labs is outstanding.

Purchased a Lite Mk III from Star Labs and it's the best laptop I've ever used. The build and quality is fantastic. Also, the support staff is awesome. Can't recommend Star Labs enough.

Had a great experience with my Star LabTop Mk III, if you need a Linux laptop these guys are absoloutely one of if not the best choices you can go with. Great performance, nice keyboard and lighter than you'd expect for a similarly spec'd machine. Easy to disassemble to upgrade/repair and each part is orderable direct from the manufacturer which is a nice touch. Had a problem with my laptop a year on, great phone support with people who guided through a dissassembly. Unfortunately couldn't fix the problem over the phone but had the laptop sent, repaired and redelivered under warranty within 48 hours which is pretty crazy.

Understand what you're paying for, as linux based laptop at this level is still a quite novel thing so it suffers from the efforts of being a pioneer. Keyboard response and weight distribution could be better, and I had some troubles with the sound input configuration (now solved). But one thing for sure you won't find better elsewhere - the customer support is by far the best I've experienced, from any brand. So far, very happy I got my mk iv.

I have just taken delivery of a new Star Lite Mk II. It's amazingly thin, light and black! I chose the model with Ubuntu 18.04 - a good match for my existing desktop running 16.04. Set-up was easy. I made the mistake of allowing Ubuntu to auto-detect the keyboard, which it incorrectly decided was US. Once set-up had completed I was able to change this to UK within Settings. The only other minor configuration required was to change the date/time settings to UK instead of Chinese! The high resolution screen meant that the small pointer is a little hard to see, but I'll adjust sizes of the on-screen icons over time. The Star Lite used my WiFi connection to locate later changes to Ubuntu 18.04 which was now running. I opted to accept that these should be downloaded and applied immediately in order to retain optimum security. Pre-sales support had been excellent. I had wanted to order a couple of 3rd-party items in advance, particularly a wired ethernet adaptor. Star Labs advised that most adaptors would operate, and said they liked the peripheral units made by Startech. As I already knew that brand, I opted to buy a DKY3CHSD4GPD which connects to the USB-C port whilst also allowing operation via the (Power-Delivery) power supply. I have also purchased an in-car charger plug. The Chinese manufacturer Baseus offer one with Power Delivery protocols and 45W capacity - a great match for the Star Lite.
