One of the friendliest pubs I've been to. The landlady was so lovely and helpful - even though she had been cooking all day and wasn't officially doing meals the night we visited, she offered to do food for us - and very good it was too at a very reasonable price

Great Hydes pub in a small village. Is it Wales? Or England? It's border. But a good pub with good management. And good, simple food.
Clearly a favourite for locals and a busy atmosphere. The staff were friendly and were kind enough to let us know that a large booking would be taking up kitchen time for an hour. They were really accommodating in the meantime and we were glad we stayed. The food was good and there was a decent range of drinks given the size of the pub. Would recommend.
To be fair, we only popped in for a drink on our way through. The food looked nice but we didn't eat there so cannot comment on that. Friendly and helpful lady behind the bar. Only serve sugar free coke which I think is a good idea.
After a lovely walk from Llangollen along the canal we all loved the tasty Sunday roast. Bargain price of 5.95. so worth it. Seems a very friendly local.
