My friend Louise and I arrived to a busy room, we waited and three u members looked at us and continue on their way, a male waiter looked at us then spoke to a customer and kept us waiting a good three - four minutes before he came over and asked did you want to eat? Louise said yes a table for two please. The waiter sat us at a table with menu then went away and left us no conversation. He went to speak to another table of customers then few minutes came back to ask if we want a drink? We told him he went came with drinks and left again no conversation. Five minutes we looked to give our order but no waiter, finally a lady came to take our order of fried chicken with chips but no pork. I left totally disappointed by the lack of service to my friend and me I felt like I wasn't welcomed compared to other customers. The back door was constantly left open which made us cold and our food became cold quicker. Louise went to close it at one point and few minutes later asked a waitress to close it as ee were cold.! One waitress did come to ask if we enjoying our food 3/4 the way through. The waitress came to take away dishes and no one came to ask if we wanted to have dessert or bill. So we went to the dessert counter to say we would like to order dessert. The same waitress came over and took our order plum /almond with custard. When we finished a younger waitress came and took our dishes away and left. So Louise went to ask her for the bill do we pay at counter or table she said counter. I honestly say I felt I was invisible at Stamford Garden centre restaurant. I won't be back as didn't feel valued as other customers...very disheartened with the service. Lovely little garden centre with excellent stock, even in these difficult times. Award winning butchers within the centre. I travel from Bedfordshire to shop for my meat here! You won't taste better bacon anywhere. The café looks lovely, although I have never tried it, probably because it was always full. (Pre lockdown) Highly recommended
Love it!! Lovely garden centre with excellent selection of plants and pots. I also love the delicatessen and meat section and after you have been in there, a slice of cake and coffee. Can spend quite a bit of time browsing........
We only found this place earlier this year, we have now visited the restaurant 5 times the service and food is excellent as well as good value. The garden centre is a little more expensive than others but does have a good range of goods
