A nice place of worship in the Roman Catholic community.

St Osmund's Catholic church is the warmest and kindest church I have ever walked into. I call it my home away from home because everyone there is like family. The Reverend Fathers’ sermons are sublime and inspire self-contemplation. Our children loved the children’s choir lessons before the lockdown. The church helped my family adapt to coming to England and made us feel so welcome. Sadly, we can no longer have tea after Mass since the pandemic. A lovely parishioner walked a long way to welcome us to my children's first school in England. This she did, without knowing who we were. A parishioner from St Osmund's has been teaching my whole family to play the keyboard several times a week for a year for free. I was away from home when our child had an ear infection. Our 77-year-old piano teacher walked home in the rain to get her car; came to pick my family up; drove my family to the walk-in-centre to see a GP; then took my family to Tesco Extra to get the prescribed medication before dropping my family at home. When another child of ours required a blood test at our GP while both parents were at work, a 70-year-old friend came from Downton to pick our child from school, took her to our GP Surgery and took her back to school. Two parishioners coached our child for the 11plus exam for free, and he passed the exam into Bishop Wordsworth Grammar school. A 70-year-old parishioner helped my family move into a townhouse. A family offered us extra beds for the whole summer and autumn when we had family come over, and they brought the beds to us too. Someone came to do our plumbing for free. Someone else came to set up our heating. A family gave us a bike for the children and a car for me to get to work both for free. For St Osmund's parishioners, Agape love is a way of life. The social distancing measures at church follow the government guidelines and cleaning of the church in-between Mass is impeccable. It's a lovely 200-hundred-year-old church!

Discovered this church by chance whilst searching for live-streaming Masses & have been a faithful \virtual\ attender this past month. I am very impressed by Fr. Anthony's homilies.

Sadly driven out of this church by someone playing vaguely religious music very loudly, and turning up and down the volume. Pugin must be turning in his grave!
