This was the first and only wedding for 2020 at this church the bells had not rung since March, Father was lovely, seating in the church was limited and spaced out to follow covid guidance 20 close family attended the church face masks and hand sanitiser used before entering the church. Lovely service and the sun was shinning. We will be back at the church next year to celebrate the renewing of vows with all the guest and hopefully no limitations a lovely service

Father Anthony has been very kind and welcoming towards my family when life has been difficult
Very lovely church, there is a memorial garden too.
St Margaret's is a thirteenth century church, built from flint from the local chalk downs, on the site of an older Saxon church. The church is famous for its connections with the Pre-Raphaelite artist, Edward Burne-Jones (1833-98), who lived in Rottingdean and who is buried here along with this wife, Georgiana. Burne-Jones also designed the church' s beautiful stained-glass windows. The prime minister, Stanley Baldwin, was married in this church and the guitarist, Gary Moore, is buried here. Make sure you don't miss the stained-glass windows.
My granny was born in Rottingdean, and was married in this church in April 1932. I had often driven through Rottingdean, but never stopped before. I have a lovely old photo of my grandparents outside the church, post nuptials and wanted to see where it was taken. It is a very special place (I am not the slightest bit religious) in terms of ecclesiastical architecture and history.
