Not being religious in the slightest, I was surprised by the atmospheric and highly spiritual feel of the descent into the cave, helped in part by ghostly and melancholy chantings of monks. The cave is a big let down unfortunately due to the very, very cheap and tatty plastic statue. Needs something more!

I would have enjoyed it more if the kids didn't want to run to the end and back again. Lots of information boards.

It's gorgeous. Right underneath Dunfermline where St Margaret used to pray. Worth a visit
