Very prominent building on the skyline of Longton. Erected in 1833 by the architect J Trubshaw. Consecrated 1834. Made in a farely plain Gothic style in grey stone. Within 2 acres of cemetery that has since been relaid into a public garden. Has a 90ft square bell tower with 4 circular pinnacled turrets at it's corners. And 2 lower circular pinnacled turrets where the tower joins the central part of the building. The West face of it has a large stained glass window. Above which is a clock. Clocks also on it's North and South sides. At the bottom of the tower set into projecting porch walls are it's 2 entrance doors. On either side of the doors are circular pinnacled turrets. 1 door facing it's North rear on Uttoxeter Road and 1 door facing it's South front on Normacot Road. Has a domed half octagonal East end. With yet more circular pinnacled turrets. In between either end it has 6 arched lower windows and 7 upper windows on both sides. Not been within.
This is a beautiful church! There are amazing stained glass windows above the altar.
