I was able to visit St George's Deal today. I had a warm welcome from Gwenda and the members of the group on duty. I needed to experience the atmosphere of the people and building and it was very special. The East stained-glass window (1950, by Hardman ) was damaged by a bomb. The only word that survived was Hope. The Lewis organ was rebuilt in 1966.The oak casing was worth more than the organ!

A very nice old Church in the centre of Deal and seems to have a very active congregation.

A beautiful building with equally lovely gardens. The family service on a Sunday is really nice, it really is for all ages with kids groups for all different ages and the worship is brilliant, a mix of modern worship songs and more traditional hymns accompanied by a band of talented people and singers too, all the words come up on a big screen so no need for hymn books. The prayer ministry team at the front after the service if you'd like someone to pay for you, while tea and coffee and biscuits is served by groups of adults who meet during the week and at church. There are \cell groups\ who meet during the week for everyone, secondary school aged children, messy church for families, young adults 18-30s, Centrepoint for the older members of the church and The Carpenters Arms Sandwich (TCAS) for people in and around the Sandwich area. Communion is the first Sunday of the month. The church welcome children's christenings during the normal Sunday service, and adult full immersion baptisms usually at special events/times.
