Excellent dormitory accommodation for a large group catering for about 50-60. Communal bathroom facilities and on the doorstep of most of the local bush walks. Easy access to the visitors centre and a short walk to Lake Rotoiti.
This is an excellent, invaluable resource that is affordable to students and educaters and is located close to the lake and tracks so that you can get to experience some of the best field trips in the region or country. The facilities are communal, clean and very adequate. You get bunk beds but you are not there for the creature comforts but for the invaluable insights and experience that your field trip and educators will impart to you. The large kitchen-dining facility ensures that even large groups (eg. 2 classrooms) will be well catered for. You can feed all the hungry students, lecturers and crew especially after their tramps, without difficulty. If you are a newbie to the NZ bush or an international visitor / student keep close to the party or an experienced group because it is not difficult to get lost, even on designated field trips, in the surrounding bush while you are out and about on your tramps.
Outstanding Educational facilities for schools of the upper south Island and anywhere else if they want to travel. Great program specific development for the year group you are taking there. From junior high school to leadership courses. Great facilities and consistent high skilled staff.
