This is one of my favourite places to visit. There is do much history to learn about. The architecture is beautiful both outside and inside. Having grown up nearby I've visited this lovely Cathedral all my life. My children and I have sung in the Cathedral on different occasions. We've paid to take the tower tour which was fascinating and allowed us to see behind the scenes as such.

Beautiful ancient Cathedral. Running as a working museum and Abbey. Wonderful to walk around and admire the architecture and artworks. Tours are available. Entry is free but a 5 donation is kindly requested to help maintain the building.

The Cathedral & Abbey Church is brilliant place, everyone who's visiting St. Albans should start their journey from Cathedral. Place is historically gorgeous! I was visiting with my little daughter and the woman who works there tell her cool stories about snails, and then we were trying to find them on the wall, my daughter was really happy :)

This is one of the most significant places in England for many Christians, as it contains the shrine of the first British martyr. It’s a huge, imposing building, perched upon the top of a hill and visible for miles. A real mixture of styles as it had been built upon in various styles over centuries - including recycling of an original Roman wall. Tranquil inside with many alters to explore. Toilets, a gift shop and cafeteria too - complete with a brand new but well-crafted side entrance. Definitely worthy of a visit, whether you consider yourself religious or not.
