Proper non league ground. Superb terracing gives you a great elevated view. The old stand is excellent with wooden benches right at the back. My only moan would be the adult entrance price of 15. Too much in my opinion, but as a positive can be reduced by buying a family ticket therefore encouraging children to come along.

First visit to Clarence Park, St Albans and the 5-stars is more for the nostalgia factor than the state of the ground. It's yer original football experience that'll never be enjoyed nor appreciated by those that only 'schlepp' around in the Premiership. But this is National League South 'footie' and it's a pretty good experience. The actual ground is situated very close to the local railway station and the rail tracks run right behind the only seated stand and clubhouse. We went to an evening fixture to watch St Albans City FC host Braintree Town FC in Aug-19, with a family member who lives in St Albans. The stadium itself is a real throwback experience, although the gate price of 18 for an adult felt pretty 'modern' and may be a contributing factor to the circa 400 [ish] gate. It was fun to observe the half-time 'migration' as the home and away faithful swapped-ends as they sought to better support their lads as the goals went in. Sadly for the home team they accumulated NIL goals for and the away squad potted 3 times against and took the 3 points.
