I used the St Albans franchise before Christmas for a scratch and an alloy. Really impressed with the work and lovely people to deal with. Also appreciated Brian’s honest advice on what was worth getting sorted and what wasn’t. Wouldn’t hesitate to use again.

Great job done by the team in fixing a graze on my car's wheelarch, and also a special job on my dashboard, looks fab!

I recently dinged my car on a wall after being blocked into a parking space. Got a few quotes and ChipsAway was one of the more reasonable ones. I've just picked up the car after 2 days with them and it looks absolutely fantastic. Brian and Amanda were really helpful booking me in (a few weeks to wait, which I took as good sign, they're obviously popular!). Great repair on wheel arch and alloy. I'd definitely recommend!

Our 2020 Mini Countryman went in to have a dent repaired on the drivers door. Upon collection the car had polish marks on the black wheel arch trim and a scuff to the wing indicator trim. Not a professional way to hand a car over. They did fix this there and then, but worse still, I then noticed a gouge to the paintwork inside where the door card had been removed and the door card was also damaged. This had happened when their fitter removed the door card to gain access. Several trim clips were damaged so the door rattled and didn't fit correctly, plus the ambient lighting was not plugged in. The fitter must have known all this yet hoped I wouldn't notice. I gave them the chance to put right rather than them having a huge bill from BMW to put right, which they did 95% as we do get the occasional rattle from the door lock on rough roads... but I really cant be asked to go back and have the door pulled apart again! I will say the paintwork was repaired very well, but their fitter caused more damage removing door trim. They said it was difficult to remove, but frankly that is their job to remove without damage and use the correct tools (BMW visual assessed the damage and it's their belief the incorrect trim removal tools were used). I was hoping they would offer a generous goodwill gesture for my wasted time, inconvenience and 4 trips to them, but no... just 25 and a sob story about how just much the new clips/parts cost them, clips their fitter broke! Maybe they should be making him pay! I wish I'd given to BMW now and cost Chips Away a lot more! It's certainly cost me! My advice, avoid!

My 2 week old Renault Zoe managed to get a very small chip on the bonnet. I bought the Renault touch up paint and lacquer kit and attempted the touch up myself following their instructions. The result is slightly noticeable but at least it covers the damage. Popped in to See ChipsAway at St Albans and spoke to Brian the proprietor. He didn't laugh at the small raised bump of paint, as i said it is a very small chip i had tried to repair. Brian explained what would be required to Fix it and the cost, which he reduced as there was only one tiny area to fix but the clear lacquer coat would need to cover the whole bonnet, his advice was to leave it with my repair and wait until there were several more and then it would be worth paying to have it done. As a business, Brian could have just booked me in as a willing customer and took my cash but he took a different view and after discussing it with him, I took his advice and will live with it, it is a very small chip i repaired, but I know where I'm going when I do really need a repair. He is very customer orientated and I can totally understand why his review rating is so high.
