A friend said we should stop here while passing through. Seemed like a plain name, and I’m not sure we had high expectations, although they weren’t low either. The plain brick building turned quickly into a very cool interior. Gas lanterns throughout. Has the feel of a commercialized bar and grill, yet with the home feel. I had, and pictured, the Lobster Bisque, then Jambalaya, and finished with their bread pudding with ice cream on it. It was all excellent. When we travel, we almost always try a different place for every time we eat, to experience different places. This was one of the few that we ate at twice as opposed to finding an additional new place. Would stop here again as well. Staff is on top of it as well, which seals the deal. Great place.

Mike's American is (or was) the #1 restaurant in Springfield on trip advisor. It's close to the mall and hotels, the ambiance is very nice with a two level dining room, the menu has a wide selection of choices to suit almost any palette, and the food quality is good to great. My main issue with Mike's American is that it's pricey for what you get. Whereas you can get an amazing lunch for about 10 at nearby restaurants, you'll pay almost double that here, with burgers running 15. If you're looking for a good place for date night or to hang out with friends, it's an excellent choice. If you're looking to get the most bang for your buck, my experience is you can do better elsewhere.
Excellent food and service. My roast chicken salad was crisp and fresh and delicious. My friend thoroughly enjoyed his Monterey salad and that's what I'll order next time. We ate outside although indoor dining is available. Always a great place to eat.
Honestly the best salad I've had in a long time! I got the grilled salmon one. We sat outside but the inside looks like a super nice place to eat post-covid.
Tonight my friend and I had dinner at Mike's American Grill. I have probably been on 10 other occasions prior to this. Although, this last particular visit stood out to me due to the all staff members going above and beyond, and really delivering exceptional service. While my friend notified the server of his allergy the manager came by and made absolute sure everything would be alright for him. Working in Restaurants previously for 6 plus years I thought this particular manager was very smooth and very classy in her approach. The manager and service staff did an excellent job of making both of us feel special despite sitting in the bar area and not ordering drinks. In addition to all this as always the food was spectacular! Being a world traveling food enthusiast Mike's is a must visit when in the Northern Virginia area.
Idk if their adult drinks are great/strong enough, but the food was definitely worth it. Our waitress was amazing and timely too wish I could remember her name. I ordered the drunken steak and the bread pudding for dessert. I'd advise a planned reservation if you decide on this place too, seating goes quickly.
We had an awesome experience! My burger was incredible (and the fries were great too). If you want a first-class experience, then do what you can to be one of Derrick’s tables. Derrick did an incredible job, and I wouldn’t be embellishing if I said that he was the key ingredient to the greatest service I’ve ever received at a restaurant!
Food is always perfect. It's rare that from start Appetizer to finish Dessert that I'm impressed. Hands down one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE RESTAURANTS!!The staff and chefs are professional and polite.
