My mum has cancer of the esophagus and can't eat food or drink water. After initially inserting a feeding tube this hospital allowed her to go 2 days without food and water. If we hadn't taken her home they would have quite happily allowed her to die of starvation and dehydration. She is currently on her second stay at the hospital with a feeding tube problem and on an IV drip. She has not been fed since Thursday, it's now Saturday and they are telling me they cant insert a new feeding tube until Monday. So they are allowing a cancer patient who hasnt eaten properly for 3 months to go 5 days without being fed !!! There is zero communication between staff shifts and any call to the ward results in a response of \comfortable\. The fat lazy nurses are more interested in discussing their nails and makeup than looking after the patients. Everything they do here has to be questioned and checked as staff competency is low. Also, this is a Monday to Friday 09.00-17:00hrs hospital. If you get ill in this area the the trains between Southport and Liverpool are every 15minutes. A quick death is preferable to the slow one this lot are serving up. This trust is failing. Tory's keep banging those pots and pans!
