After much research about the Latest Model Mountfield Lawnmowers I got it completely wrong! I bought my last Mountfield mower from Stanley’s many years ago and it never missed a beat. Alas age got the better of it and the main body simply rotted away, as you’d expect after being left covered in damp grass all its life. A visit to Stanley’s with all the info gleaned from all over the place, and as luck would have it they had exactly the Model I wanted in stock. Priced competitively and delivered ready (with fuel)to go in a flash, better than any service you’d get from all the internet suppliers. Long storey short, used it once and realised that it was much too fast and much to heavy for me. One phone call to Stanley’s and it was swapped for a more suitable Model that they recommended which again was delivered ready to go in no time at all. Morel of the tale is that if you want to buy a new mower go and get advice from the professionals who have a great range on display and advise you as to which model will best suit your needs. Thanks to all once again for a swift, friendly and professional service - a service that is rare these days and none existent on the internet !

They serviced a petrol self-propelled mower. They found a lot wrong, but it runs like new now - much better than after (cheaper) services at other places in previous years. And they return all the bits they replace so you can confirm they needed to go - if you know what you're looking at.

Took lawnmower in for repair, three weeks later they rang to advise lawnmower not worth repairing as cost of repair 150 is more than lawnmower is worth. It required new carburettor and blade and service. They offered a new lawnmower at just under 200. Told them not happy with price and they tried to sell a reconditioned lawnmower for 89 which was a lot smaller than original lawnmower and rusty. Took my lawnmower and went to another local lawnmower retailer and the experience was totally different. They rang me next day and agreed on price which was a third of cost and lawnmower was fixed and running brilliantly the same day. This was customer service at its best, friendly and knowledgeable staff. I will not return to Stanley's again as far too expensive and staff appeared too want to sell new machinery and night be bothered to fix and service perfectly good machine.
