Despite the challenges that the pandemic through at us Southend Barns still managed to ensure we had an amazing wedding!

I cannot rave enough about this place. If you’re thinking about booking your wedding here, stop thinking and do it! We live in Surrey and a few of our friends questioned us when we said we were getting married down in West Sussex. When they saw the venue - they got it! We had the most amazing day here, even before the actual wedding day there was so much attention to detail, we loved the food tasting evening and meeting the staff to talk about our day. I can’t thank the amazing staff enough for their care and attention, they really do make this place what it is. I’m quite (ok, very) particular so finding a venue that met my expectations was going to be a challenge. They took care of everything on the day - we literally just had to turn up and say “I do”. Roots catering even managed to cater for our vast array of dietary requirements without batting an eyelid. I’m told the vegan food was amazing! Southend Barns went above and beyond to make the day perfect and I honestly cannot thank them enough for the best day of my life.

Beautiful venue and grounds. Staff were attentive and demonstrated attention to detail throughout the whole process. It will always be remembered as the best day of our lives thanks to Southend Barns. Our wedding planners were always prompt with any questions or query and this helped put our mind and ease so much, especially on the day. On the morning of the wedding they liaised with my bridesmaids and best man so we have no stresses. So organised! Ceremony area (outside) is sleek and stylish and is sufficient for small and large groups. We opted for the BBQ option with Roots. They had recently taken over when our wedding date came around. Taster evening was such a great idea and really helped cater for all our party. The Michelin star pastry chef designed and created our wedding cake too on site (Croquembouche) - it was a first but didn’t disappoint.
My wife and I had our wedding here on the 9th of September 2020 and I believe we were their first all day wedding after the restrictions lifted due to Coronavirus. I cannot begin to describe how helpful, friendly and caring all of the team were to us. We felt like our wedding day was the biggest event of the year and that they would do anything to make sure we had the best day possible. Not only that, but the venue itself is just stunning and felt so intimate with the 27 guests we had and didn't feel like there was 'too much space'. The food, provided by Roots Catering, was also exceptional and everyone was saying how much they enjoyed it. I could not recommend Southend Barns enough as our wedding was better then we could have ever imagined, regardless of it being in the middle of COVID. Thank you so much to all of the team!
