Southampton Council should be ashamed to let such a great outdoor activity go to ruin. The whole park is wild. Ok if that is truly the intention but I think it's just a case of not wanting to spend money on cutting the grass! :0(

I was delighted to hear that this once beautiful little course has re-opened after approx. 2 years; I have fond memories of playing here. The greens were the best in Southampton and it was a delight to come here. How disappointed was I to discover that the fees have nearly doubled and the course can only be described as little better than a rough field, the once immaculate greens were terrible even allowing for the neglect of the previous 2 years. To re-open in this condition and charge exorbitant fees is a disgrace, the council should be ashamed of themselves.

We used this pitch and putt site frequently when it was under Southampton City Council Management and were very upset when it closed. We were very pleased to hear that it has re-opened under private ownership so gave it a go today. Very disappointing indeed. The site was scruffy, the grass cutter was following us around and was very off-putting because of the noise and the greens were in a dreadful state. I appreciate it takes time for the greens to become smooth but strongly feel that, until such time as this happens, a reduced rate should be in place. There were no numbers by the mats like there used to be so, as we don't use the score cards, it was difficult to keep track of the number of the hole we were playing. The flags were obviously many times "recycled" and some didn't even stay in the holes. All in all, very poor value for money and felt like we were playing on a badly cut field. There will have to be a noticeable improvement before we visit again. Sorry :-(

It was an utter disgrace and a rip off. It was completely overgown, grass not cut and you could hardly distinguish the greens and they charge 7.50 for an adult and 5.50 for a child
