I have come here for months. The staff and teachers are very welcoming regardless of your faith. Gen Lekma is my favourite teacher. she has over 30 years experience and she is one of the most wise people I have seen. They sell very good books that will help you understand meditation. With Gen Lekma, you will learn everything about it and love it. It is good that when the lockdown started, they began to provide their services online which is amazing. I personally stopped taking meditation classes but if you are interested to learn or have anxiety and depression, this is one of the best places to go to.

I have been attending KMC Southampton for the last 3 years. The classes they offer are fantastic and very applicable to our modern life. I am also on the Foundation Program which I highly recommend to anyone who is looking to deepen their knowledge of Buddhist principles. I have developed a strong bond with the people on this course and with the senior management, therefore if you have not attended the centre before and you are apprehensive, do not worry as you will certainly be made to feel welcome. In addition to this, the centre have adapted extremely well to the pressures that have come as a result of COVID-19 and offer classes via zoom. This is especially great for those that struggle to get into the centre. I myself live in Bournemouth and sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances I am unable to attend in person. This has been great and has meant I have been able to attend many more classes than pre COVID! Well done for all the hard work to the senior management team that has made this happen.

Having spent some time volunteering at KMC Southampton, I can very much recommend the friendly and enjoyable atmosphere there is there. The people are so welcoming and you really do get a sense of everyone working together to improve themselves and help others in the local community. The new cafe is a great addition and there are some lovely gifts in the shop as well as a whole range of meditation books. I always come away from the classes feeling uplifted and inspired to make positive changes in my life.

The Wednesday evening sessions are great for beginners. And it's nice to stay around for a tea or coffee afterwards.
