Being a Titanic fan since 1997 (James Cameron's film) I wanted to live in the city where the ship sailed from. Finally settled in Southampton, but it's impossible to get access to actual Titanic's berth, because it's a ABP (Association of British Ports) territory and only available for its staff. Sadly the berth isn't in use anymore, and Cunard's liners like Queen Victoria are usually berthed opposite, where is new (ugly) Ocean Terminal. It's blunder that neither Port nor City council has done anything to commemorate this place - not only for Titanic's sake, but also for many other famous ships like Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth which also once stayed at this berth.

There's not much to say about this berth. It's a common place for the roro's to berth.
Very helpful when delivering vehicles
It's a cruise terminal you can get a snack or a drink but only if you are boarding a ship
Побував тут 23 січня 2018 року, нажаль не пустили до самого причала, тож щось там розгледіти не було змоги, та ще й вечір був. Перепитав у охоронця, чи то те саме місце звідки відпливав Титанік і він це підтвердив. Атмосфера тут якась незвичайна, відчуваєш історичне значення місця.
Ich war enttäuscht. Bin letztes Jahr extra dorthin gelaufen und dann wird der Zugang durch eine Schranke mit Kontrollen versperrt! Ich wollte mir das originale Titanic Dock ansehen, aber keine Chance dorthin zu gelangen. :(( Das ist echt schwach. Generell hat Southampton wenig übrig für die Titanic. Dieses Dock öffentlich zugänglich zu machen, wäre ein großer Besuchermagnet und im Sinne des Gedenkens an die Titanic notwendig. Wer als Titanic-Fan in Southampton trotzdem auf seine Kosten kommen möchte, sollte sich einen Besuch im SeaCity Museum einplanen, wo es eine tolle und berührende Titanic-Ausstellung gibt.
