My wife and I read some good reviews about this spot so we figured we would give it a shot. The atmosphere and staff was fun and great views of the sunset. I just wanted a good burger and my wife wanted some seafood dish. So we ordered some drinks which were good then ordered our food, but within 4 maybe 5 minutes max or food was in front of us... we both looked at each other and said what did we just do? So we started to dig in and we had to admit it was pretty darn good. It tasted fresh and hot. We ordered desert, enjoyed the sunset and recommended you do the same.

Came in for a quick drink and to relax after some exploring. There were three of us so we each tried a different flavor margaritas. All were excellent. Our server was great and attentive. Left a good tip since we were taking up prime real-estate and weren't eating. The views of the water were great and the weather was fantastic! Will be returning to try out the food! The menu looked quite promising!
Our food was superb. We had some special dietary needs, which they gladly met. The steamed vegetables were steamed just enough to bring out the flavor, but not enough to make them limp or soggy. I had Cajun seasoned flounder and my wife had grilled flounder. In both cases the fish were perfectly done. The service was very good. All in all, it was a wonderful dining experience.
The painted Marlin Grille is definitely one of my favorite place we went to on South Padre Island. I ordered the ahi tuna dinner. All I can say is that this was the best tuna I've ever had in my life, better than the one I make myself. The flavor was perfect and it was perfectly cooked. There was not one thing on the plate that I did not finish. The vegetables we're perfectly cooked, not soggy, the rice was excellent. For dessert we had the key lime-mango pie. It had a very unique flavor that I enjoyed very much. I highly recommend The Painted Marlin Grille and will definitely be returning myself.
We ate here the other night. Our party started out small but then others showed up. The staff actually did all they could to accommodate us and keep us together. The food was by far the best we had in days trying many other places on the island. I had mushroom chicken n Swiss sandwich on home made cheddar jaiapeno bun. OMG...it was so good!! The prices weren't inflated like the other places we tried. You definitely get the quality of food you pay for here.
