Excellent fishmonger. Always had very good mussels. Weve been buying once a week over 18 months and always had high quality fish. His eggs are good too.

While visiting Edinburgh, I looked up for fish shops downtown because I really craved for langoustines (norway lobster). I was immediately drawn to \Something Fishy\ as the lovely wee shoppe reminded me of the old fishmongers we used to have around in my birthplace near La Rochelle before the bloody supermarkets put them all out of business. So my friend and I popped in on a Tuesday an enquired about these fine ladies of the sea.. alas there wasn't any. As the benevolent and knowledgeable owner explained us, since it's a pricey delicacy people tend to treat themselves with it only for fine supper over the week-end. That said, the good man went on a limb and offered to order us a kilo of them to pick-up on Thursday morning, without any guarantee that the Frog and Yankee tourists will be back for it. Needless to say, I was there on Thursday morning at first light! And what lovely beasts they were.. big, extra fresh and full of caviar.. But pictures are best. Quel délice!

Very good independent fishmonger and much better than the supermarkets. Support it or lose it...
