Visited twice with family recently with everyone enjoying their meals. Vegan pizza on the first visit was okay, not amazing, but the pub was very busy and vegan pizza is a bit of a specialist item. It could be great in the future if they continue to work on it, and the availability in first instance was a welcomed surprise - the only place I know of in Port Talbot to offer the option! Vegan friendly dips were also provided (garlic mayo and salsa) and these were both very tasty. Vegan burger was awesome, really delicious flavours and great textures. Staff were very accommodating and demonstrated excellent customer service skills in dealing with my family on both occasions. Family members ordered the daily special lamb curry which they rated highly, mixed grills, and the mango cheesecake also received a lot of great feedback. The pasty was also said to be very good, albeit a little smaller in portion size than previous occasions. My pints of Guinness were served in a branded, chilled glass and were poured to nigh on perfection. High standards are maintained even when the staff are under considerable pressure. Great historic pub in the area with a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere, plenty of space, well thought out and practised social-distancing measures, friendly, hard-working staff, tasty food and beverages. What's not to like?!
