MORTIFIED - So after travelling up with my boyfriend as his hockey team traveled over 200miles to use this facility to privately hire the ice for 360 as our home rink is shut and was the only rink available to hire. Not only did we just pay for the private hire we also ended up paying up to 300 on top of the 360 in parking tickets even after we paid and have proof of payment(ticket) due to the poor signage, clocking us in and out when arriving and leaving! When you travel over 200miles and end up arriving early for the session due to setting off early because of terrible weather conditions, little did we know we were being charged from the moment we were waiting in the car park! This is the first ice rink that I have ever been to in my whole skating career as a figure skater (over 10 years) and I travel a lot for training/competitions and skating camps and am forever waiting around in car parks! And i have never seen something so con worthy. It’s a lot of money spent that shouldn’t have, especially when this was our first time to this rink! Even after driving round the car parks and reading the signs as we arrived we were still not aware of the shock we would’ve received in the post! Only positive was the two gentlemen that was working that evening, both lovely! So want to thank them both! Would be great if something was done about this as from reading previous reviews, we are not the only ones to be coned in this malicious way by sustaining money of the rinks and surrounding buildings customers! which is clearly putting a bad light on the companies.

I really enjoy going to the evening sessions here. Good ice and great atmosphere it’s always really fun! It’s not too busy at that time. Staff seem quite helpful. You do have to pay for a locker but that’s standard. Would be good if they had a place to fill up a water bottle or get some drinking water apart from the vending machines as the bars in the venue are closed in the evening. Apart from that it’s always really enjoyable.

The staff at Solihull ice rink helped to give my daughter and her friends a wonderful 13th birthday. A venue that's been going since I was her age (30 years ago) has managed to survive in these uncertain times and still offers fun for all the family. The staff are brilliant. Friendly and experienced at managing the venue which is possibly why they have been able to implement measures to keep everyone safe from Covid whilst still allowing people to enjoy themselves. Sadly, the online booking system let's the ice rink down. I was unable to book for a variety of reasons, one of which was that bizarrely the system needed photos of every individual attending! The is no other way to book. However, this should not take away from the fact that the staff at the ice rink are doing a great job. My advice, don't bother trying to book, just turn up and enjoy. Any problems ask for Eileen, she has more understanding of customer service than all the online booking systems put together. Thanks guys.

They employ criminals to manage their car park. I parked legitimately in their car park in Solihull and have evidence, yet the criminals they employ are threatening me with a ridiculous parking notice which has now escalated to a letter before court. The management of Planet Ice Solihull are aware of this situation and are doing absolutely zero to help. I will be doing everything I can to stop this from happening and to hold the management at Planet Ice Solihull accountable for the unscrupulous actions.

Staff are always pleasant and open 7 days a week . Lessons for beginners are available and they hold ice hockey lessons and games on a regular basis
