Can only speak for the sea-kayaking part of this, but if you want freedom, exhilaration, and the joy of getting away from it all, this is the place to go and the people to go to. Just don’t expect to be mollycoddled and tucked in at night. They are old-school, pre-connected generation, so make sure you have everything properly and carefully organized BEFORE you get there. Get that done and you’ll be in for a lot of fun. John is a straight-talker and tells you honestly and equally what the the dangers and highlights will be. He’s a bit rough, but a lot of fun. His 50 years of stories are, of course, full of insanity.

Horrified to call on the day of our booking to find that they had actually not input our booking into their diary. However received a confirmation email to say it had been booked: further more on the call we were told their were no available canoes. All we got was a “sorry don’t remember” however on arrival to the centre we noticed multiple kayaks and canoes so not only were we messed around we were also lied to. Avoid this business at all costs. You will only be left truly disappointed. Ruined our whole weekend.
Their SSL certificate expired 12 days ago, we can safely assume they are no longer trading.
Fantastic canoeing experience.
We had a perfect stay at the Smiddy Bunkhouse. We had some trouble with our reservation but Tina made everything possible for us. Thanks again for the great hospitality!
