The food tasted great. It was nice to see that they prepared stews from different parts of the world. We were on one day trip, came from Amsterdam and we rented our bikes in Stavoren and managed to make a super nice loop with a lunch stop in Sneek. Stoof has table settings outside by the canal and as well indoor. It was really easy to find the place, it is just outside the very busy square, and still busy enough to enjoy people passing by. Also very handy that you can park your bike just on the other side of the canal at a bicycle parking spot and keep an eye on it.

Near the canal and has inside and outside tables. Most of the meals comes in pot, and you serve it to your own plate. It is an interesting service style.
Great staff, a very nice atmosphere and the stoof taste menu is a must-try. Amazing flavors, unique combinations and all-in-all great food for a good price.
We were visiting the Netherlands on vacation when my family and I ate at this restaurant. The food is fantastic! This is the best restaurant that I’ve ever been to. The food tastes very fresh and you can tell it was made with care. The owner is friendly and passionate for his work. I wish this restaurant was in my hometown because I could see myself coming multiple times to try the diverse selection of stews they offer.
Excellent food and service. Stoof means \stew\ in Dutch. I highly recommend the \taster\. With four people you get 5 Crocks of stew from all around the world. Incredible variety and taste! About 17 each!
