Undoubtedly the best chippy in Whitby. Moved here 3 years ago and have gradually tried them all, this is the only one to go back to. Great fish and chips, great service and best value for money

Wow. I've eaten a LOT of fish and chips over the years, and after a while you get used to the sweaty, mushy chips and thick, greasy, flavourless batter. Enter Silver Street Fisheries. The cod and chips I had was so fresh, the batter so crisp and flavourful, the fish so plump and clean. I've fallen back and love with fish and chips again, bloody delicious! Oh also, they've got cans of dandelion & burdock in the fridge, cracking!
Being aware of good online reviews I bought my usual haddock chips and mushy peas. The chips were great, dry, crispy, tasty and well cooked. The peas had substance and flavour, not too sweet or salty. The fish however had a yellow/ brown colour to it, with no flavour. The batter, while tasty had a cake like consistency on the inside. The shop looks clean and well kept and the staff are great. They might have had an off day. I will give it another go before ruling it out indefinitely.
I'm not normally a fan of fish and chips (I don't like chip shop chips as they're usually too soggy for me). I just had the nicest cod and chips that I've ever had. The fish was massive and the chips were crispy and fresh. Can't reccomend Silver Street Fisheries enough!
Excellent fish and chips. Went for a black pudding too. Prepare to queue at popular times, but well worth the wait.
