Lovely wild space! Good shoes and a walking stick can help with some steep areas.

Nice hiking both up and downriver; we went upriver this morning. Overall pleasant, cooler shade, not crowded earlier on a holiday weekend. It's a barebones path -- don't expect water nevermind educational plaques. If you want a map, you can find one posted at the boat launch on the south side of the road; I posted a shot of the part we hiked. \X\ marks this spot on Google Maps. Parking: there's a gravel lot and path northwest of the road on the Montgomery County (south) side of the bridge. Paths: You can take the main dirt utility road (red in the map) or the somewhat flatter but longer scenic footpath that hugs the river more closely (gray on the map, look for orange blazes). The footpath reconverges with the road when you need to hop the two streams visible in Google Maps.
