Both my daughters went to Acorn Hill and they gained an incredible foundation for lifelong learning. They loved the daily outdoor play, stories, songs, and art activities. The watercolor paintings, beeswax sculptures, and stories to retell they would bring home are amazing. Our family treasures the festivals, wonderful community, and teachers!

We have truly enjoyed being part of the Acorn Hill community and our child is blossoming under the thoughtful care of his teachers. The play area nestled in the woods is quiet, peaceful and feels like our little cocoon away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The halls smell of lavender or freshly baking rolls or graham crackers for snack and the outdoor space is calming and inviting. Our child loves imaginative play and Acorn Hill has really given him the space to play, create and imagine to his heart's content. Puppet shows, watercolor painting and baking their own healthy snacks are part of the beloved routine, as well as lots of outdoor time in all weather. It feels like such a magical way to celebrate this part of their childhood. We have enjoyed all of the traditions at school such as a bonfire, a candlelit latern walk in the meadow and mornings at the school celebrating cultures from all over the world. We feel so lucky to have made the decision to send our child to Acorn Hill!
As my daughter celebrated her last birthday at Acorn Hill l today, I was reminded how much our family will miss this lovely tradition and the many years we have spent at the school (5 years with two children). The birthday celebration is very simple with stories, songs, a cake baked by the class, and few thoughtful handmade gifts. It’s so calming and peaceful – and very different than what you might find at a child’s birthday party in this day and age – yet so sweet my daughter looks forward to it all year long. This is just one of the many things we love about Acorn Hill, in addition to the caring teachers, emphasis on nature and arts, and beautiful playground. I’d highly recommend this preschool for anyone looking to foster the magic and innocence of childhood a little while longer.
My child thrives at Acorn Hill. The mixed age groups, focus on outdoor time and fine motor skills-based play are critical precursors to academic success. Thanks in large part to her early childhood education at Acorn Hill, my older child is now in advanced math, a social leader, a thoughtful artist and an all star athlete.
I attended kindergarten here and remember it so warmly! I had wonderful teachers. I vividly remember the puppet shows, nature walks around the school, games on the playground, and games with my friends - many of whom I'm still in touch with to this day. Acorn Hill is a beautiful, warm, and nurturing place to attend.
