Amazing place. Looks so serene and peaceful. Especially now with less people around. I have no children so can't say if it is or not great place for families but during winter, with fog and bit of snow on the top of mountains it does look enchanting.

Silent valley is a fantastic experience for hiking the mournes, wooded area or fot a picnic. Does not matter what weather you go in as its always beautiful. Weather changes quickly due to mountain weather.

My first visit here, and worth the journey from home. Stunning scenery, eerily quiet so the name is appropriate....there's even a cafe too. Not much in the way of cycling unless you take the path to the right of the lake and up to the dam. Plenty of cycling outside the grounds with some steep inclines and stunning views

Lovely walk along the reservoir and other walks available too. Café not open due to Covid but toilets thankfully were and were immaculate. Dog poo bags, rubbish bins, feed for ducks available. Had a grand day out!

Fantastic day out. There are various different routes to be taken depending on the length and intensity you want. We took the red route which is one of the longest. While it is a long walk it is relatively flat up as far as the dam and would be suitable for wheelchair users. It is 6 miles round trip. I would recommend the longer walk to anyone who has travelled to get here. Really worth it. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. The lake, the mountains and the dam. Great picnic spots along the way. They also have a cafe and a play area.
