We were recommended the restaurant on our impromptu visit to Siena. It is located away from the more touristy places, which makes it that much more pleasant. The setting is amazing, very cozy and traditional. The owner and staff were super friendly and very attentive. We are pescatarians, so we chose vegetarian, very traditional, in season dishes. The food was beautiful prepared and even though our chosen dishes were simple, their taste was mesmerising. We were both so pleasantly surprised at how much we loved and enjoyed each and everyone of our dishes. The whole experience was wonderful, even after finishing our meal we sat there sipping wine and chatting with the friendly staff. We will definitely be coming coming and I recommend the restaurant if you wish to enjoy a beautifully traditional meal in a wonderful, friendly setting.

Amazing and excellent food/quality and especially service :) without saying super affordable prices. We received a welcome drink from the place prosecco, had a great glass of montepulciano and they even offered a grappa. Nice chat with the owner :) we love this unique places with history. Thank you very much

I cannot understand why the cooking was so poor. Great setting and friendly staff but from our experience give it a miss. Annoyed by small flies the whole meal which the staff knew about but could not eliminate. We wondered why the next table had a saucer over his wine glass but we had to do the same. Souffle overcooked, no cheese flavour, tiny dabs of pear puree and wine reduction looked like it was painted on the plate and dried up. Risotto nicely served in a hollowed out cheese wheel and the waitress scraped out some of the cheese before serving but not much. Tagliatteli was served with grated fresh truffle but also not much. Beef cheek with Chianti was soft but not much flavour. Under seasoned which is unusual in Italy and wine flavour not evident. High price for poor cooking. Not one of the dishes impressed us.

A wonderfully atmospheric setting, lovely food and great service but very very overpriced. 10 for a tiny side dish of vegetables! Be careful that they do not put prices of side dishes or wine by the glass on the menu. Great experience but not good value compared to other places we ate in in Siena.
