Super great traditional Japanese style breakfast. Must try at least once if you have time in Kyoto. The rice is super delicious as cooked in clay pot.

We came here for breakfast, but it was full for the time slot we were free, so we made reservations for the next day. The breakfast was a delicious, healthy, obanzai style meal, that was very affordable. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend making reservations and going to breakfast (or any meal, though we only had time for breakfast)
Quite a nice place for a causal dinner. They have English menu for some items. Reasonable price. Do try the tempura.
Nice simple breakfast. Nothing much, nothing less. The fish was not out of the world but everything combined was good. One fine day for a Kyoto style breakfast. Reservation in advanced is highly recommended.
