Just had a lovely 2 hour ride across the moors with Shilstone Rocks stables. The yard has a really nice atmosphere and Maria, our guide, was lovely - attentive, instructive and chatty. The horses are well cared for in an environment as close to their own natural environment as possible. We had a walking ride, as my son-in-law had never been on a horse before, and even though I'm an experienced rider it was a delightful two hours. What can be better than two hours on a horse wandering across Dartmoor (well maybe 3 hours!!). I would recommend this stable to anybody of any ability. I'm looking forward to coming back and going out on a more advanced ride. Thank you Maria and Shilstone Rocks Riding Centre

Had a ride out today on Dartmoor with tutor Maria. She was very knowledgeable and put me at ease from the off . The horse was very well behaved as well , which helped with me being a beginner. I received a warm welcome from the staff who were friendly, polite and professional. A very enjoyable couple of hours out in bad weather but will definitely be going back. Recommend this place to anyone. Thank you.

Fabulous ride, first time on a horse for 30 years... but the lovely Maria (that's a person, not a horse) made it tremendous fun and Russell (that's a horse, not a person) was a delight. Thank you so much for a lovely experience.

rode at shilstone and had the best ride for a long time, Russell was lovely the company was great and the lead rider was sociable and made the whole experience a pure delight, Of course the scenery was stunning as well. The yard was clean and very professional highly recommend

Great intro to horse riding. Me and my partner really lucked out with the weather and could see out to the ocean from the top of the Moors. Very friendly staff. Only downside was it was a walking pace but they can only really go as fast as the slowest horse/person. Highlight of the trip.
