Mareel is a great venue. Staff are super and love the cinema. Would get 5 stars if you could use gift vouchers on the website.
Love Mareel. We're so lucky to have a place like it in Shetland
Superb concert at Mareel. Nice bar/cafe area but way too hot in the afternoon sun, like a giant greenhouse! A great venue.
Probably the most colourless and boring Arts Centre I have ever visited. Seating in the bar area is awful, once you are sat down you are cut off from interacting with anyone apart from those in your party. The seating would be better running down the length of the bar, the tables are far to big for their use. All around Shetland you see examples of local art but in the main lower areas you can hardly see any examples. 2 large black and white prints do the place no justice. Expensive place to drink and the bar is far too small for a sell out concert or whatever. 3/10
