The best dog training centre ever! We nearly lost our hopes for our rescue GSD, but found this place and couldn't be more happy! Janie and the Team were very helpful and very professional. I sent my dog to Sheps for residential training after feeling completely at a loss with his behaviour. He was bred to be a working dog and is very strong, fast and high energy. As a teenager he’d begun going for other dogs and appeared to have forgotten how to play nice. He was quickly shown his place by a bigger dog and left with a wounded ego (and leg) and a scared, reactive temperament. He was barking and lunging at every dog or person that reminded him of the fight! After consulting pet trainers in London, it was clear they were out of their depth and unable to help. Soon somebody was going to report my previously lovely dog and that the consequences would be serious for us. Janie advised 4 weeks with her. During that time, her and the amazing team took time to get to know him and build his confidence, trust in people and listening skills. I was sent video updates and able to ask questions. He returned to me much happier and significantly less jumpy. The tips they gave me help keep his behaviour under control. Many people had said to me about residential training that he would be mistreated or that what he learnt would not be transferable to a very different life in Central London with me. On the contrary, my dog clearly adored his handlers and the time away was obviously fun for him. Any city dog would certainly welcome a break at Sheps. Sheps also made sure to train my dog in many contexts that prepared him for any situation he might face in the city. We are both more confident in dealing with stresses. Whilst nothing dog related is ever cheap, I am sure this is amongst the most reasonably priced residential training in the country. Thank you!
