I have kept my horse at Shenley Stud since October 2016 which is more or less since Shady took over management of the yard. We love it, my horse and I very happy here. The staff are friendly, helpful, caring and nothing is too much bother. Shady is on hand if you need help with your horse’s training both on the ground and ridden. The other liveries are very friendly and helpful as well. The Stud has large airy 15ft x 15ft stables, a huge recently resurfaced all weather school to ride in, jumps for your use, as well as a separate dressage arena which is away from the main yard so horses can concentrate on what you are asking them without the distraction of other horses. There is also a horse walker and a lunge ring for your convenience. There is plenty of all year round turnout for the stabled horses, both individual (if your horse doesn’t play well with others or gets beaten up a lot like mine) or mixed turnout field(s) for those whose horses can mix with others. There is also ample parking for trailers and small horse boxes out the back. They also do grass livery and I have recently moved my retired pony here from the New Forest and she is now happily living in the mixed herd in the grass livery fields which are rotated regularly with plenty of hay supplied in winter. The yard also has a strict worming policy. The yard is in a beautiful setting with acres and acres of off-road hacking at the back of the stables, you can go for a decently long ride without going near a road. There are also bridlepaths nearby that can be accessed from the lanes at the front of the yards. I have owned horses for 43 years and in that time I have kept my horses in many different livery yards in both Surrey and Hertfordshire and Shenley Stud certainly ticks all the boxes for me so we are here to stay.
